Derrick Nicholas (Strategic Events Planner) is a graduate of the Antigua & Barbuda International Institute of Technology and Cornell University. He's an exceptional events planner and practical thinker. Mr. Nicholas combines new media with cultural visuals and creative programming to make events both spectacular and memorable. Derrick brings 30 years of hands- on experience in the hospitality industry and sports administration to political campaigning. He was recently appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association (LICA). In this capacity, he focuses on the fiscal and events planning direction of the company. Derrick held several leadership roles: founder of DSN Enterprise, duty, resident and assistant, and front office manager positions, president of the East Coast Optimist Club, and operations officer with the West Indies Cricket Board where he prudently managed multi-million dollar budgets and negotiated huge contracts. In addition to directing basketball tournaments, community awards events, or non-for-profit fundraisers, Mr. Nicholas volunteers extensively. He has offered Mathematics classes to boys and girls struggling with quantitative challenges, as well as served at the Boys’ Training School and counseled inmates at the local prison.
